Why Hello!

The idea of Daisy Chain came about when we moved back to Australia after 12 years in London. My supply of note cards was running low so I started looking online to find an Australian based company that created something similar to what I had been ordering in the UK.

After struggling to find anything quite the same, I decided I would try creating my own and with it, the idea to start it up as a small business grew.

So why notecards…?

I am not going to lie, I have never been much of a letter writer. Don’t get me wrong, I love receiving letters, but have always struggled to write a letter that resembled anything close to an english masterpiece.

My parents would no doubt testify to the fact that, while at boarding school, the method of communication drastically changed with each of us three girls.

My eldest sister, TK, dutifully sent off letters to mum and dad on a weekly basis. Annaliese sent the odd letter with a phone call thrown into the mix.

I, on the other hand, would call ‘reverse charge’ whenever I wanted a chat to them and the number of letters sent back home, during the 5 years at boarding school, could easily be counted on one hand.

That is perhaps why I have grown to love note cards. I can use them easily to send my thanks or to let someone know I am thinking of them all with just a few words. No pressure to create an english masterpiece at all!

Most importantly however, just like a letter, they still create that personal connection that is often missing today despite the ever constant stream of emails and online messages we send.

I also love gifting note cards to family and friends and I especially enjoy choosing a design that I think is perfect for them.

It has been fun drawing and creating my Daisy Chain cards. Drawing was something I enjoyed when I was young but for some reason I stopped in my adult life. How wonderful it has been to rediscover it!

I plan to add more drawings in the coming months so would love to hear your ideas for designs. I also have plans to invite other people to contribute designs to provide some artistic variety.

In the mean time, please send in your suggestions. It would be wonderful to hear from you.
